FNF Philippines Presents: Partners-in-Focus, A Peek Into The Work Of Our Partner Organizations
FNF Philippines launches the Partners-in-Focus video series that aims to familiarize our network and the different country offices of the foundation with the work carried out by our local partner organizations. It aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by our partners and the impact of their initiatives.
We sit down with members of their programs team or the heads of their respective organizations to offer a closer and personal look at the preparation and implementation of our partners' programs. In an attempt to provide an overview of the liberal democratic community in the Philippines, this video series hopes to put context into the setting and agenda of the projects FNF supports in the Philippines.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: CLD (Center for Liberalism & Democracy)
Working hand in hand with diverse stakeholders - civil society, media, academia, and policymakers, CLD tirelessly advocates for a society where freedom and individual rights flourish without constraint. Through seminars, workshops, publications, research, advocacy campaigns, and networking events, FNF Philippines and CLD are weaving a tapestry of dialogue and awareness around liberal issues and solutions across different sectors in the Philippines.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: AltMobility
AltMobility is a driving force for sustainable and inclusive transportation in the Philippines, and FNF Philippines is proud to collaborate with them in pursuit of innovative and sustainable solutions to curb climate change and advocate for our freedom of movement.
AltMobility's initiatives, such as the Bikenomics study, are changing the game by showing that cycling and other smart-city solutions are long-term, eco-friendly means to address our transportation needs.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: PETA
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is an organization leveraging theater to empower marginalized communities and tackle pressing societal issues. Collaborating with FNF, PETA works with schools, and communities to provide a rich and innovative educational experience to a diverse audience.
As a theatrical association comprising artists and educators, PETA is the proud holder of the UNESCO-International Theater Institute Center in the Philippines and operates as a non-profit, non-stock, non-governmental, and registered donee institution. Together, PETA and FNF are reshaping the narrative damaged by disinformation and transforming the way we engage with important social issues.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: AHRC
The Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC) is a university-based institution in the Philippines that is committed to promoting and protecting human rights in the country. The AHRC’s mission is to respect, protect, and promote human rights, especially in the Philippines, through engagement with communities and partner organizations. FNF has supported several of AHRC’s activities over the years, most notably their summer internship and semestral break internship program that help law students become human rights advocates and development leaders through an intensive immersion program conducted in different marginalized communities in the country.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: Angat Buhay
Angat Buhay was formerly the flagship development program of the Office of the Vice President to address poverty and inequality in the Philippines. After the "pink movement" that drove former Vice President Atty. Leni Robredo's presidential campaign bid in 2022, it has then transitioned into becoming a non-government organization with the largest volunteer network in the Philippines. Angat Buhay has since partnered with several institutions including FNF to empower Filipino communities by providing basic services such as public education, public health, disaster relief, and community engagement. FNF and Angat Buhay's partnership is based on the shared promotion of democracy and good governance with projects that hope to elevate active citizenry.
FNF Partners-in-Focus: MediaNation
MediaNation is an annual conference that gathers media practitioners, and journalists from different groups and outlets to discuss timely issues on information and how news is perceived by the general public. MediaNation advocates for transparency in information as a crucial pillar of democracy. FNF's partnership with MediaNation seeks to safeguard freedom of the press and the protection of journalists.
