The ECIT Foundation, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, is honoured to invite you to the 2nd Annual meeting of the MEP Cross-Party Group on European Citizenship. Co-hosted by MEP Maite Pagazaurtundúa (Renew) and MEP Doménec Ruiz Devesa (S&D), this meeting will focus on the role of the new Spanish Presidency in promoting European Citizenship.
Like its predecessors, this meeting intends to facilitate the open exchange of ideas amongst MEP’s, experts, and civil society representatives. With the date for the next European Parliament elections set, this event is particularly important in order to make practical recommendations for invigorating Union citizenship.
Panels will include themes such as:
● The upcoming priorities of the Spanish Council of the European Union Presidency 2023
● The AFCO Report on ‘Parliamentarism, European citizenship and democracy’
● Preparations for the Commission 2023 Report on European Citizenship
● European Elections 2024
