DESCRIPTION OF PARAMI INSTITUTE  With the vision to create change agents from all walks of life, Parami Institute aims to transform Myanmar youth into lifelong learners, effective leaders, and responsible citizens. To that end, we organize a variety of educational programs, Parami Talk Series and Parami Conference. 

Educational Programs include (1) Parami Leadership Program (PLP), a year-long liberal arts and sciences program to cultivate critical thinking, interdisciplinary analysis and articulate communications skills in Myanmar university graduates under our experienced faculty through discussion-based, seminar style classes; and (2) a wide range of other short courses that are geared towards working professionals in Yangon. 

Parami Talk Series is a monthly talk that features high-profile speakers from Myanmar and around the world to shed light on critical local and global issues. Parami Conference is a biannual event that invites educators, administrators, and policymakers from schools and organizations across Yangon and around the country to advocate for best practices and policies in higher education. 

JOB SUMMARY Parami Institute is organizing a one-week Human Rights workshop in a retreat setting in Nay Pyi Taw. The course will be from 9 am to 4 pm. There will be around 15 students who are currently working or are interested in Human Rights sector. We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and passionate Instructor for this one-week short course. 

DURATION August 19, 2019 – August 23, 2019 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS • Fluency in English; • An advanced degree in a field related to human rights; • 2 years of teaching experiences (teaching in Myanmar preferred)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Design syllabus with one-week period, including two speaker sessions and a short fieldtrip • Facilitate the workshop through research and discussion-based learning  • Evaluate students’ performance 

SALARY AND BENEFITS • USD $1,000  • Flight tickets from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw (roundtrip) • Accommodation and meals during the workshop
