The Liberal Party of the Philippines (LP) has continued its political education initiative, Mamamayang Libera (ML) to engage citizens and enhance political awareness ahead of the 2025 midterm elections. With support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Philippines, the forum series recently reached students and Youth Council officials in Liloy and Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte. Aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of liberalism, the events attracted a significant turnout, with local figures like Congressman Adrian Amatong of Zamboanga del Norte helping to organize and facilitate the sessions.

The Mamamayang Liberal (ML) forums have also been held in various regions across the country, including Quezon Province, Cebu, and Palawan.

These events are designed to educate attendees on the principles of liberalism and promote informed decision-making when selecting future leaders. In particular, the forums focus on enhancing citizenship education, helping participants understand their roles and responsibilities as voters, and emphasizing the importance of making educated choices at the polls.

The goal of these educational sessions is not only to clarify liberal values but also to deepen citizens' political engagement. This includes fostering a greater understanding of their rights, obligations, and relationship with the state. By promoting democratic principles such as freedom, equality, fairness, and justice, the LP aims to equip citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate social and political affairs. These discussions also emphasize the importance of legal awareness, teaching attendees to recognize their rights and responsibilities in a democracy.

Liberal Party Secretary-General and Mamamayang Liberal President Teddy Baguilat, along with party spokesperson Atty. Leila de Lima, served as key resource persons during the forums. Their presence offered attendees the opportunity to engage directly with high-profile liberal figures and learn about their perspectives on critical political and social issues. The sessions featured an open forum where participants were encouraged to ask questions and express their insights to foster transparency and open dialogue.

In addition to promoting political awareness, the forums highlighted the importance of collaborative governance and the role of citizens in holding the government accountable. The LP emphasized that active civic participation, including voting, is essential for strengthening democracy and ensuring that government decisions align with the values of the people. Through these discussions, participants were reminded of their power as voters to influence the future of the nation.

As the 2025 midterm elections draw nearer, the LiberaL Party continues to stress the significance of informed voting. The organization urges citizens to actively participate in the democratic process, ensuring that their voices are heard and that the leaders they choose are committed to meaningful change. By making their votes count, the LP together with FNF Philippines believes that Filipinos can contribute to a stronger, freer, and more just society.
