Panel discussion on LGBTQIA rights in South Asia and Europe

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia is hosting a panel event on "Being Queer in South Asia and Europe" on April 9 in Brussels.

Representatives from politics and civil society from South Asia and Europe will take part in the event, including Michael Kauch, Member of the European Parliament for the FDP, and Premnath Dolawatte, Member of the Sri Lankan Parliament. Two papers on the political and social situation of the LGBTQIA community in Europe and South Asia will also be presented.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia has launched a series of events in 2020 under the motto #BornWithPride to draw attention to the situation of the LGBTQIA community in South Asia. International conferences were held in Kathmandu and Colombo in 2022 and 2023.
