FNF Alumni Year-end Event

FNF Alumni Year-end Event

In late December Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Korea and FNF’s former scholarship holders gathered in downtown Seoul for a last meeting in 2017. Around twenty persons took part in the year-end event and listened to interesting presentations given that day.

After catching up, FNF alumni hosted a small Science Slam, a format well known in Germany. The three participants had to present part of their research in ten minutes. Kim Jung-goo, President of P&C RM, explained the meaning of risk management and the consequences of the current pension system. Rebecca Schmidt, intern at FNF Korea, analysed a TV commercial of a well known beauty clinic and criticized the current weight trend in South Korea. Goo Myeong-suk read a selection of poems and gave an in depth explanation about their meaning and background. All were presented with warm applause and a small present.

Lars-André Richter, Head of the office, was the last speaker of the evening, reviewing the recent German parliamentary election and ongoing government building. The presentation was met with great interest and a variety of questions showed the curiosity of the alumni.

FNF Korea would like to thank all of the alumni for this warm gathering and wishes Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018 to everyone.
