International Summer Camp for German language and Political Education

International Summer Camp for German language and Political Education

In the mid of August, the Korean office of Friedrich-Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) has participated in a political educational and German language project for the first time together with five renowned South-Korean universities and Goethe Institute Korea.

This year, the four-day joint annual event covered the topic intercultural communication differences and its effects on commercials and advertisement in Germany and South Korea. The event was kindly hosted by the renowned Korea University on its Sejong Campus.

The around 60 attendants were mainly young German language university students from South Korea and Japan. FNF Korea has been delighted by the warm atmosphere of mutual understanding and friendship between the young students from two countries that have faced difficult relations in the past.

After an introduction about the work of FNF Korea that has been delivered by Lars-André Richter, FNF Korea's special guest Mr. Anton Scholz has presented his ideas about major differences between commercial communication in Germany and South Korea. Mr. Anton Scholz is the CEO of "Korea Consult" and an expert of intercultural communication issues with long business experience in South Korea. FNF Korea also gladly took part in the friendly exchange of ideas and opinions during the informal evening activities.

It is a unique chance for all participants to broaden their linguistic and political horizon while establishing friendships across borders. FNF Korea is therefore looking forward to further cooperation with the universities in order to organize another event of this kind next year.
