Roles and Education for New Local Leaders

On November 21, 2018 FNF Korea in cooperation with the Center for Local Autonomy at Hanyang University as well as former and incumbent leaders held a special seminar at the President Hotel in Seoul on the roles of new local leaders and ways to bring them up.

In their opening speeches Christian Taaks, Head of FNF Korea, and Ju Young Lee from the Hanyang Association for Local Autonomy Studies both emphasized on the importance of preparing future leaders for the challenges to come and the benefits of a strong cooperation between Korea and Germany. Following this sentiment the Keynote speech by former Governor of Gangwon Province, Jin Sun Kim, concentrated on the needs of training for new local leaders in the era of localization.

After a short break Sung Choi, former Mayor of Goyang City gave his speech; further emphasized on the new role future leaders would have to take and what would be the best way to prepare them for this challenge. The following discussion with former and incumbent leaders, professors and editors allowed participants to get an even deeper insight into to topic while the general discussion after allowed them to ask their own questions.

The event was wrapped up successfully with a dinner that gave the opportunity for further discussion on the topic and essential networking for all participation parties.
