Gamification : Creativity and Innovation for Sustainable Development
Games, media, and arts: leading innovation 'Distributing complicated knowledge by simple approached'
In 2010, FNF and the Election Commission developed a board game called 'Sim Democracy'. The game has been played by people all over Thailand, enhancing the capacity of many young democracy volunteers. The game has also led to the establishment of collaborations between international NGOs, government agencies, and young activists to help distribute it to educational institutions throughout Thailand and other countries. Through Sim Democracy, we discovered how powerful a game as a civic education tool can be because it transforms complicated information into simple messages and get them across via a fun process. We also learned that not only children and youths enjoy such kind of learning tools, but also experts.
