Sao Shwe Thaik
(1948 – 1952)
Sao Shwe Thaik was the first president of the Union of Burma and the last Saopha of Yawnghwe. His full royal style was Kambawsarahta Thiri Pawaramahawuntha Thudamaraza.
Ba U
(1952 – 1057)
Sir Ba U was the 2nd President of Union of Burma and a lawyer, High Court judge, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Burma, and President of Burma from 16 March 1952 to 13 March 1957. He was a member of the Anti-Fascist People's Freedom League.
Mahn Win Maung
(1957 – 1962)
Mahn Win Maung was the third president of the Union of Burma. He was appointed president by Prime Minister U Nu in March 1957. He served for five years until 2 March 1962, when General Ne Win's military coup d'état ousted Nu's government.
Ne Win
(1974 – 1981)
Ne Win was a Burmese politician and military commander. He was Prime Minister of Burma from 1958 to 1960 and 1962 to 1974 and also head of state from 1962 to 1981.
Sann Yu

General San Yu was the Commander in Chief of the Tatmadaw and President of Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma from 9 November 1981 to 27 July 1988.
Sein Lwin
(1988 – 1988)
Sein Lwin was a Burmese General and politician. He was President of Myanmar for 17 days in 1988, following the resignation of San Yu. He joined the Army in 1943, and in 1944 joined Ne Win's 4th Burma Rifles.

Dr. Maung Maung was the 7th President of the Union of Myanmar, and a well-known writer.
Thein Sein

Thein Sein is a former Burmese politician and retired general in the Myanmar Army who served as the 8th President of Myanmar from 2011 to 2016.
Htin kyaw

Htin Kyaw is a Burmese politician and scholar who has been President of Myanmar since 2016. He is the first elected president to hold the office with no ties to the military since the 1962 coup d'état.
