Short vita

Belma Bagdat is the coordinator of the International Media Freedom Program in the Global Themes Division of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. She is responsible for exile media, especially Afghan, Turkish and Iranian media, and related networking activities in Germany and the EU. Belma coordinates international projects together with partners and project offices of the FNF. She studied International Relations in Istanbul (Turkey) and has been working for the Foundation since 2002, initially in the Turkey Project Office as Program Director. She lives in Germany since 2017 and works in the International Journalism and Media Dialogue Program of the Department of Science and Political Strategy since 2022, after holding various positions in the International Department.
