Launching National Agenda to Confront Climate Change
The closing event of the "Partners in Climate" project was the sixth in series of workshops of the project, which aims to conduct a national agenda to deal with and adapt to climate change and limit its negative effects. Representatives of civil society organizations concerned with environmental issues and senior members of 10 political parties represented in the Egyptian Parliament participated in workshop, which was organized in cooperation between FNF Cairo and the Egyptian Youth Council for Development (EYCD) and took place on March 14 and 15, 2022 in Giza.
The workshop participants reviewed and finalized the recommendations of the national agenda which were conducted during the five previous workshops and covered the topics; "Energy efficiency”, "Climate friendly technology", " Measures to reduce the effects of global warming”, “Enhancing investment incentives for the use of environmentally friendly technology” and “Activating the application of environmental standards and laws.”
The workshop also included two panel discussions, which focused on the role of civil society and political parties in spreading awareness about climate change, and the importance of environmental laws and legislations in reducing pollution and enhancing green investment opportunities. The active participation of members of parliament and environmental experts in the panels highlighted the importance of politics in addressing the climate change issue.
The national agenda was distributed to the concerned executive authorities, members of parliament, and civil society organizations and afterwards in the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
إطلاق الأجندة الوطنية لمواجهة تغير المناخ
كان الحدث الختامي "شركاء في المناخ" هو السادس في سلسلة ورش العمل الخاصة بالمشروع الذي يهدف إلى وضع أجندة وطنية لمواجهة التغير المناخي والتكيف معه والحد من آثاره السلبية. شارك ممثلو منظمات المجتمع المدني المهتمة بقضايا البيئة وأعضاء بارزين في عشرة أحزاب سياسية ممثلة في البرلمان المصري في ورشة العمل التي نُظمت بالتعاون بين مؤسسة فريدريش ناومان القاهرة ومجلس الشباب المصري، وعقدت يومي 14 و 15 مارس 2022 بالجيزة.
وقام المشاركون في الورشة بمراجعة الصياغة النهائية لتوصيات الأجندة الوطنية التي تم وضعها خلال ورش العمل الخمس السابقة وتناولت موضوعات "كفاءة الطاقة"، "التكنولوجيا الصديقة للمناخ"، "اجراءات الحد من آثار الاحتباس الحراري"، "تعزيز حوافز الاستثمار لاستخدام التكنولوجيا الصديقة للبيئة" و "تفعيل تطبيق المعايير والقوانين البيئية".
كما تضمنت الورشة حلقتي نقاش ركزت على دور المجتمع المدني والأحزاب السياسية في نشر الوعي حول تغير المناخ، واهمية القوانين والتشريعات البيئية في الحد من التلوث وتعزيز فرص الاستثمار الأخضر. سلطت المشاركة النشطة لأعضاء البرلمان وخبراء البيئة الضوء على أهمية السياسية في معالجة قضية تغير المناخ.
تمت طباعة وتوزيع الأجندة على الجهات التنفيذية المعنية وأعضاء البرلمان ومنظمات المجتمع المدني وايضا في مؤتمر COP27 في شرم الشيخ.
