Countdown to Christmas
4 - Diversity

IAF - 4
  • Freedom only makes sense when it applies to everyone. But many people care more about social homogeneity. They believe that freedom does not apply to those who are "different" - be it in appearance, origin or sexual orientation.

  • Liberals know that there is a lot of productive potential for society in diversity. As long as a person does not harm others, he has the right to live as differently from others as he wants, without discrimination, but also without privilege.

Gift Idea

4 - Diversity gift idea

Not only is it the best summary of the spirit of Christmas, it is also a message of tolerance and diversity: The apocryphal Story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. A reindeer, who is laughed at by everyone because of his glowing red nose, saves Christmas at the end and becomes a hero. This plea for diversity is also inclusive, since the text was not written for a specific church in 1939, but for an open and free market temple of commerce - as an advertisement for a department store. Gene Autry released a song version for the first time in 1949.

And today an inflatable and lighted Rudolph on the roof or in the garden front makes the message of diversity and tolerance visible to everyone in the neighborhood.
