Connecting Leaders Globally: IAF’s E-Learning Platform
IAF e-Academy

In 2005 the IAF started a new seminar model based on the experience of the online programme of the Foundation’s German education programme: the International e-Academy. It comprises a preparatory online-phase and a face-to-face seminar at the Theodor Heuss Academy in Gummersbach.

Since our target audience is all over the world, the Internet is a real lifesaver for us - especially during the pandemic.

To stay in touch with our alumni, colleagues, friends and future participants, to share experiences and knowledge from our programs, raise awareness for certain issues, to find out about the latest FNF publications, or to discuss liberal issues in depth and in a safe environment. We have developed a wide range of digital and online products to meet all kinds of needs and to communicate our messages.

E-Learning Award for the International e-Academy

The concept of the International e-Academy for Leadership of the Foundation for Freedom has been awarded the European e-learning prize eureleA 2008 at CeBIT in Hanover. It came out on top in the “Associations and Foundations” category, beating the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft für Angewandte Forschung and the interculture e.V. association in the final. Lower Saxony's Minister of the Interior, Mr. Schünemann, presented the award in front of around 100 guests. The “European E-Learning Award” eureleA honors innovative education and training projects that use electronic teaching and learning methods.

The expert jury selected 20 projects for the final round from more than 70 submissions from eight countries. A senior jury headed by Prof. Henning, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, then selected the winners in the six categories in a closed session.

With the "e-Academy for Leadership" project, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation not only ensures that political interaction between people is taken to a new level - but also contributes to the aims of this competition by crossing national and linguistic boundaries through. It is therefore a pleasure for me to present the Friedrich Naumann Foundation with the European eLearning Award 2008 in the Foundations and Associations category.
