Jörg Dehnert
Regional Director - FNF MENA
Jörg holds a Master's degree in Political Science and History from Münster University. He started working for FNF in June 1993 at the Theodor Heuss Academy as Head of the departments of "Liberalism". He is the founding Director of the International Academy for Leadership, he directed from 1995 onwards until he moved to Istanbul in 2006 as Project Director Turkey.
From 2012 until 2018 he moved to Buenos Aires as Project Director for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay until he installed the new office in Lima for the Andean Counties (Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela) and became the first Project Director. Being assigned as Interim Regional Director MENA in July 2022, he formally took over this position on February 1st 2023.
Karam Hashem
Office Manager - Jordan
Karam Hashem, a graduate of English Language and Literature from the University of Jordan. His academic path was fuelled by a genuine fascination with languages and a curiosity for diverse cultures. During his time at university, he took on the role of a language partner, expanding his understanding of different cultures first-hand.
His professional journey through an internship with the Arabic Thought Forum, he gained practical experience in translation. Following that, he spent three years at the British Council, where he juggled the responsibilities of an Examination Logistics Supervisor and invigilator amidst the daily grind.
Motivated by a drive to succeed, he consistently seeks opportunities for growth and advancement in his career in the dynamic field of languages and cultural exchange.
Malak Saleem
Communication Officer - Jordan
Malak Saleem, our Communications Officer majors in Business in Marketing, holds 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, technical writing, and media relations.
Skilled at developing and executing communications strategies, organisational objective communications, brand positioning for growth, marketing, and creative directing.
Demonstrates the ability to plan and manage complex projects, as she has authored franchise technical manuals, monitoring & progress reports, business proposals, corporate presentations, and case studies.
Lilian Haddad
Project Coordinator "Refugee Project" - Jordan
Lilian Haddad is a Jordanian youth leader and a Gender and Climate Change activist who began by empowering vulnerable women and frontline communities in addition to migrants and refugees most affected by the ecological and poverty crisis. I worked as a project coordinator for two years for NGOs and CBOs.
Lilian has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and has worked toward green sustainability by founding, creating, and coordinating numerous green social entrepreneurship projects and initiatives throughout Jordan.
Mays Jwainat
Finance Administrator "EU & Refugee" Projects - Jordan
Ms. Mays is an experienced consultant with a solid track record working in the Financial sector in the accounting and credit fields. Currently, Ms. Mays manages the finance of the EU PAVE –Policies Against Violence Project at Friedrich Naumann Foundation and 2 other projects with the AA and BMZ.
Mays holds a master’s degree in Finance and Banking Services from Yarmouk University.
Manar Al Bakri
Finance Officer - Jordan
Manar Al Bakri, our Finance Officer who is in charge of the Jordan Project was born in June 1984, and holds an MBA degree from German Jordan University and Talal Abu Ghazleh /TAGSB, a Bachelor’s Degree in Information systems, and is also a Certified Business Management System and NGO professional.
In addition, having a Certificate of Excellence in Institutional Support System/SME and Start-Up Sector from the Union of Arab Banks. She enroled in many courses in different fields such as Digital transformation, MSME Access to Finance, Credit and Financial Analysis, and Supervisory Skills. In addition, Manar has a diversified experience in Jordan and UAE, but mostly in the industrial Finance, SMEs, and startups Sector in organisations such as Jordan Loan Guarantee Corp, and First Gulf Bank.
Khalil Abu Nijmeh
Project Coordinator - Jordan
Khalil Abu-Nijmeh is a Jordanian youth leader committed to fostering open dialogue and empowering future leaders. With a strong background in public relations, political engagement, and market analysis, he has worked extensively in project coordination for NGOs and youth initiatives focused on social impact and liberal values.
Currently serving as the president of a liberal student party at the Jordanian university, Khalil has experience organising campaigns, securing resources, and supporting community development efforts across Jordan. Passionate about creating sustainable, positive change, he aims to continue building platforms for Jordanian youth to voice and enact meaningful contributions to society.
Gloria Halasa
Communications Officer - Jordan
Gloria Halasa is a Communications Officer at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) in Jordan.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Translation, having studied in Ukraine and Italy, and previously completed an internship with the FNF.
Passionate about the communications field, Gloria is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, English and Italian and has a strong interest in photography and creative expression, using her skills to support impactful projects and social initiatives.
