The event started with a welcome speech from the Executive Director of the MGCC, Daniel Bernbeck, followed with a Keynote Speech by Mr. Moritz Kleine-Brockhoff, Head of Office FNF Malaysia. Mr. Kleine-Brockhoff explained about the work and activities of FNF both in the international and local level. In particular, he highlighted our work with the political parties and NGOs in Malaysia, including the different partners with whom we actively work with.

The main session was a discussion about Malaysia’s economy and trade issues by Mr. Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Chief Executive of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS). He explained the benefits and challenges in the economy sphere which was relevant and interesting for the participants. The participants also followed the Q&A actively and had the opportunity to understand more of the economy and trade conditions in Malaysia.

In general, the event was meaningful for us as it allowed us to touch base with the German expats in Kuala Lumpur and at the same time introduce our work in Malaysia.
