LEAD organized a forum on Malaysian National Budget: National Vision and Development, two weeks after the recent Malaysian 2016 Budget Speech delivered by the Prime Minister, which is also the Finance Minister of Malaysia. The event took place at the Kulliyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).

The panellist were Prof. Dr Mohd Nazari Ismail, former Dean of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya (UM); Assoc. Prof. Dr Madeline Berma, Director at Tun Fatimah Hashim Centre for Women Leadership, who is also a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Management, National University of Malaysia (UKM); Mr Wan Anwar Wan Ibrahim, Director of Centre for Political and Economic Transcendence (Competent) and Mr Tarmizi Anuwar (Coordinator for Students for Liberty (SFL), Malaysia).

The programme was attended by about 50 people. The discussion was very lively, ranging from the fiscal management to the question of government roles in economy.
