A-Z of Election Management by Akademi Keadilan

Akademi Keadilan (ARK) conducted a training on A-Z of Election Management, from 6-8 October 2017. The training was conducted in Sungai Petani and attended by 30 people. The participants were from Kedah and Pulau Pinang. They are mainly leaders in Parti Keadilan Rakyat who will play key roles for their respective Parliamentary constituencies in the upcoming General Elections. The training included an overview of election management with a focus on the 5M; Managing Data, Managing Strategies, Managing & Tracking Voters, Managing Logistics and Managing Polling Day.

Through the group work, the participants were taught to calculate the 'Magic Number' and identify their Critical Voter Segment. We covered detailed calculations for both scenarios; two-corner fight as well as three-corner fight. Other topics that we covered include Messaging and GOTV. We also had a special session on Strategy, presented by Dr.Abdul Rahim Ghouse on Saturday evening. On Sunday, we had Dato' Johari Abdul (Member of Parliament for Sungai Petani) join us for the closing ceremony. After the workshop, the participants felt better prepared to face the next elections.
