Sahra Lissek has been working at the Brussels office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) since June 2023. She is responsible for the areas of competition, the internal market, digitalization, and reducing bureaucracy. Before joining the foundation, Sahra worked at a Brussels-based political consultancy specializing in financial services. She holds a bachelor's degree in European Studies and a master's degree in European Public Affairs, both from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

The pro-European majority successfully counters the attack from the right
The 2024 European elections were characterised by a high voter turnout and intense political debates. Despite the rise of extreme right-wing and left-wing parties, the political centre was able to maintain its position. FNF Europe Event Explores Liberal Perspectives on Ukrainian Integration
On 6 December, FNF Europe hosted the event “Liberals Leading the Way to Ukrainian Integration” in the FNF office. Following the recent adoption of the European Commission’s 2023 Enlargement Package on 8 November, the event build on the recommendation to open accession negotiations with Ukraine (which still needs to be voted on by EU Member States).
