FNF Korea and YAFK's evening event with Henning Höne

FNF Korea and YAFK's evening event with Henning Höne, Member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Parliament

FNF Korea and the Youth Alliance for the Future of Korea recently organized an evening event in Seoul: a talk concert with Henning Höne, Member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Parliament.

Mr. Höne is the youngest deputy of the state parliament's 16th legislative period, an aspect that makes him a particularly interesting discussion partner for Korea's young and engaged generation.

Comprised of university students in their twenties, the audience was especially eager to learn how Mr. Höne's interest in engaging in politics was sparked and how he became Member of Parliament already at a young age. General agreement was found on the importance of a wide range of generations being represented in politics.

An avid interest in Germany's educational as well as political system stimulated a vivid discussion and the event's open and interactive format allowed for cross-cultural knowledge sharing covering various topics. The audience as well as Mr. Höne himself had the chance to ask questions and talk about their country's respective school systems, leisure time activities, political structures and future aspirations.

The YAFK is one of FNF Korea’s partner which consists of Korean young people in their 20s and 30s with the objective ‘Social culture the youth contributes to’. This was the third event co-organized with YAFK since 2013. The main cooperation project between FNF and YAFK is the Sim Democracy Project which aims at educating young multicultural children including North Korean refugees on the concept and principle of democracy.
