Forum on Youth Unemployment in Korea

The Youth Alliance for the Future of Korea (YAFK) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) co-organized an open form in Seoul in late November as a way to provide opportunities for young Koreans to discuss ways to deal with challenges related to starting a professional career.

The event was attended by about 180 young Koreans, where the participants could share the experiences of their peer panelists who have difficulties related to job finding and discuss possible solutions on the youth unemployment issues in Korea together with experts from varying fields. During the forum, participants on the floor could actively get engaged in the discussions with the panelists by giving their inputs on real time base through Kakaotalk, a Korean mobile chat program.

Besides main discussions, a report on the “Youth Unemployment 2015” was presented by the YAFK to the public. The book compiles in-depth interviews with 70 young Koreans and a summary of the survey conducted to 500 respondents on their job searching experiences.
