Local Government & Unification
"The roles and tasks of the local government to build local administration systems in preparation for unification" is the topic of a seminar organized by the Korea Research Institute for Local Administration (KRILA) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF). It takes place on September 17th from 2 to 6 pm at the Korea Press Center, Conference Hall, 20 F, and is supported by JoongAng Sunday.
As it has been around 70 years since the division of the Korean peninsula, there are growing national expectations and hopes on reunification. The Park Geun-hye administration has also actively been discussing the issue by suggesting a "unification bonanza" and by operating the Preparatory Committee for Unification. In this context, we believe that it is all the more meaningful to host an international seminar to discuss the agenda on perparation for unification by local administrations.
