Research Papers on India's Democracy – Unpacking Resilience, Stability, and Lessons for Global Democracies

Call for Proposal

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) invites proposals for research papers that explore India's democratic resilience, political adaptability, and the strength of its institutions. India, the world’s largest democracy, recently concluded its 2024 general elections, showcasing its ability to manage political diversity while maintaining economic growth and regional influence. This paper should reflect on the lessons other democracies can draw from India’s experience.

Objective of the Papers:
We are seeking insightful and well-researched papers that address the various dimensions of India's democracy, focusing on its democratic institutions, electoral processes, and ability to maintain stability in a multi-ethnic and religiously diverse nation. The selected papers should contribute to the broader discussions and serve as valuable reference material for policymakers, academics, and civil society organizations.

Key Themes to explore:

  1. Electoral Transparency and Independent Institutions
  2. Democracy and Economic Growth
  3. Stability Amid Regional Turbulence
  4. Challenges to Democracy
