On November 30, 2024, Giorgi Maisashvili was arrested while attending a demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue. What began as a peaceful gathering quickly escalated, leading to a heavy police presence and multiple detentions. In the chaos, Giorgi witnessed his brother being forcefully taken down by officers and attempted to intervene. He was then struck, lost consciousness, and later found himself in police custody. Despite sustaining serious injuries, he was not provided medical assistance during his detention. His case, based solely on police testimony without additional evidence, resulted in a six-day administrative sentence.

Giorgi’s experience sheds light on the broader challenges of public demonstrations, law enforcement practices, and due process. Regardless of one’s perspective on the events of that day, his story raises important questions about the treatment of detainees and the legal protections available to individuals in such situations.
