Pakistan and EU : Trade Potential
The main objective of this report is to identify the bottlenecks hindering trade growth between Pakistan and the EU and propose reforms to enhance bilateral trade relations such that Pakistan can benefit more from the GSP+ scheme. The study undertakes a comparative analysis of trade patterns between the EU and 1)Bangladesh, 2)India and 3)Vietnam, which are major regional counterparts that are likely to influence the trading relationship between Pakistan & EU.

Transatlantic Dialogue Political Professionals Study Tour
The FNF Transatlantic Dialogue (TAD) conducted its annual study tour program from June 18th-25th. This year’s program saw participants exploring the political, cultural, and economic landscapes of Upper Bavaria, Munich, and Berlin, and focused itself around the motto “Germany’s Political and Economic Landscape in Times of Zeitenwende”. The professional expertise of the participants ranged from industry to government affairs.

Strategic Decoupling: Phasing out russian economic influence in Germany
The study by the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) examines the continuing entanglement between the German and Russian despite Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. The Russian corporate presence in Germany is highly concentrated in around 40 larger firms, which specialize in oil refining, natural gas supply and distribution, metal and plastic products manufacturing, glass production, and transport. Russia’s war upended European peace and security and intensified global power competition. The study shows that the Kremlin's long arm extends far beyond Germany's misguided Ostpolitik.

Washy declaration and missed opportunity with MERCOSUR
At the long-awaited EU-CELAC summit, a disappointingly vague final declaration was issued: the autocracies in Latin America, especially Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, prevented a clear naming of Russia as the aggressor in the Ukraine war. The lack of agreement highlights the challenges in the relationship between Europe and Latin America, where economic cooperation and eye-to-eye collaboration are crucial to promote democratic and liberal values.

World Order and Globalization Hub Hosts Study Tour on Renewable Energy
The World Order and Globalization Hub welcomed its eighteenth delegation of experts in May for an eight-day-long study tour focusing on renewable energy and the energy transition. The Hub hosted a delegation of seven participants representing Malaysia, India, Bulgaria, South Africa, Guatemala, Italy, and Germany for the program, which took place in Washington, DC and Portland, Oregon.

Transatlantic Dialogue Alumni Conference 2023
This years Transatlantic Dialogue Conference took place April 13th through April 16th in Coral Gables, Florida. The conference was held for former participants of the Transatlantic Dialogue Program’s yearly study tours to Germany. This year 45 participants from the US, Canada, and Europe were part of the conference.
