ABOUT THE EVENT
Brexit will have profound but very different consequences for individual parts of the U.K. A majortiy of people in Gibraltar, Northern Ireland and Scotland voted against Brexit in the 2016 referendum. Still, they will have to exit from the European Union, too. Gibraltar and Northern Ireland, both sharing land borders with the EU, will be very directly affected wheras Wales ist at risk to be the region economically most impacted in the U.K.. Moreover, Brexit has already reignited debate about Scottish independence and Irish reunification. How do Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar prepare for Brexit? Which specific challenges are they dealing with? And toward which outcome will they work in the upcoming negotiations on the future relationship between the U.K. and the EU?
Join us for a multi perspective discussion on these and more questions on the eve of the UK's departure from the EU.
