IAF - 4
  • Sending and receiving documents, letters, etc. and other items is still an integral part of private and business life today. This also applies in the age of electronic communication.

  • Sophisticated methods and infrastructures have been developed to transport and deliver shipments quickly and reliably from the sender to the recipient. Postal Services became affordable and available for more and more people over time. Modern life is unthinkable without a broad correspondence.

  • For a long time, the postal service in many countries was a strictly state-run monopoly. However, there have been repeated attempts to establish private providers - which today provide an important part of postal services.
Innovation - Postal Services

Inventor

According to current knowledge, the first postal services existed in ancient Egypt in 2400 BC. Their use was limited to the pharaohs and their officials. It is not possible to identify a specific “inventor”, rather there was a gradual development. All major states developed similar facilities. More and more precise address systems were developed, the means of transportation became faster and more efficient.

Christmas and other end-of-year holidays are an important occasion for many people to send mail: Postcards, letters and gifts of all kinds. They show their attachment to relatives and friends. At the same time, they generate a lot of work for postal employees and a lot of revenue for many companies.
