Freedom means change

Our world is changing. Borders open, but new obstacles arise. Many feel powerless against the power of some individuals. Extremist voices get louder. Political forces in Germany and abroad question the liberal democracy and its achievements – of the society as a whole as well as for the individual.

Only if we change, we will find tomorrow's answers to today's questions. We want to live up to our aspiration as liberal forward thinkers. That is why we have initiated a foundation-wide process that sharpens our messages internally and externally and strengthens our powers of persuasion. The goal of this joint transformation process is our vision:

We are working on positions, responses and offers that express our liberal beliefs in order to win as many people as possible to the cause of freedom. Everyone who is committed to freedom, turns into a defender of freedom for all.

Freedom is our mission for more than 60 years. We are working for human and civil rights in over 60 countries. We continue to follow our tradition to shape the future.
