Cryptocurrency program

The cryptocurrency program took place at Beirut Digital District from the 5th until the 28th of July 2022, twice per week from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The program was composed of 8 sessions on cryptocurrencies tailored to beginners’ level to make the topic easily accessible for youth and public audience. The sessions conducted during the workshop were the following: Introduction to finance and assets classes, history of money and introduction to cryptocurrencies, definition of blockchain and how does it work, blockchain for finance, alternative cryptocurrencies, wallets and storage, cryptocurrencies assessment, Non fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse, community, politics and regulation. In addition to this, we had three guest speakers from different backgrounds between the sessions where they gave the participants different perspectives regarding cryptocurrency. The guest speakers explained the smart contracts, Blockchain, contracts and NFTs from a legal perspective and cryptocurrencies assessment. The lead trainer of this program was Randa Rifai, a cryptocurrency expert with professional experience in various banking positions since 2008. The program was successful in that it provided participants with the information and resources they needed to understand financial literacy and perform educated investments and online trading.
