IAF Seminar "Communication: Strategy and Skills"
I would like to thank Ms Vera, the FNF project manager Malaysia, and Carrie from PGRM for helping and assisting me through the whole process.
After a week of the seminar, interesting topics, hours of talking about different cultures, individual simulation and group works, we built new friendships and connections.
The seminar was attended by a total of 24 participants from different parts of the world, with representatives from liberal parties, elected representatives, think thanks, NGOs, and youths. FNF - International Academy Leadership (IAF) seminar "Communication: Strategy and Skills" is the way forward. It motivates us to act a certain way and desire us to do more.
In this modern world, there are many ways to channel messages, ideas and brand across. This seminar had taught us how to commute and channel our messages to our target audiences, people and the voters, the facilitator taught and gave us insights on the effectiveness of communication strategies, tools, and skills.
The facilitators had discussed and covered these following topics:
- Analysis of the different concept and dimensions of Strategic policy communication
- Communication within the framework or a strategic plan and a brand strategy
- Branding with ideas and strong value proposition
- Medium of Communication, the advantage and disadvantages, and alternatives of Media.
- Discovering Critical information, and the power of Journalist.
- Indept overview of the Media (successful overview and concepts for working with the Media)
- Pratical and Simulation training
- Pros and Cons of Social Media
- Exploration on Crisis communications, and the plans of communication
Last but not least, I (Lim Si Ching, Youth Committee Member of PGRM) would like to thank FNF and PGRM for having me and providing me this wonderful and fruitful seminar to widen and gain extra knowledge from this foundation.
