Early month of July 2019, Institute for Leadership and Development Studies (LEAD) and International Republican Institute (IRI) have organized a workshop on good governance practices at Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Corruption and embezzlement of government officials are among the reasons why there is decline in governance. In turn, it affects the quality of democracy in a country.
In order to monitor the efficiency and performance of the new government, young people must be equipped with knowledge of good governance practices.
About 20 people attended the workshops facilitated by Ms. Angel Sharma from IRI Headquarters in Washington DC.
Among the modules involved are the roles of youth and political parties including developing public policy, engaging with the community, and understanding the roles and responsibilities of civil servants.
