The School of Leadership and Governance organized by Kaya Natin! Movement has culminated on 06 September 2017 at the NCPAG Assembly Hall through a Development Market Place.

The activity became a platform where young local legislators from more than 20 Local Government Units across the Philippines showcased their project proposals to different organizations that they could create partnerships with and could support them in implementation at the local level. Areas covered by the proposals included public health, infrastructure, youth development, tourism and climate change. Present during the Market Place were Children’s Hour, World Food Program, Foundation for the Philippine Environment and British Council, among others.

On 4-5 May and 6-7 July, the first and second modules were conducted by former local chief executives who are members of Kaya Natin!. They served as mentors who shared best practices during their term. The roster included included Florante Gerdan from Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya who created a system for Performance Management among his employees in the municipal hall; Marivic Belena from San Jose, Nueva Ecija who initiated for a known restaurant to link with local farmers in bridging a program to help them be part of the supply chain; and Tito Sarion of Daet, Camarines Norte who developed and sustained the long stretch of beaches in the Bagasbas area for boosting tourism. Simultaneously, consultation sessions with mentors took place as the participants clustered themselves according to the theme of their draft proposals.

The graduation followed at the office of Vice President Leni Robredo. In her welcoming message, she emphasized that “Instilling the values of visionary, innovative, and progressive leadership among our young leaders is important nowadays, as LGUs play a crucial role in the positive transformation of communities.” Further, Vice President Robredo shared stories to the participants on how her husband, the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, initiated efforts on good governance and the obstacles he faced along the way.

FNF Country Director Wolfgang Heinze has also shared that "We, in Germany, are still being haunted by our dark past from events in history. For FNF, therefore, it is very important to push for initiatives that will protect our democracy in order to prevent similar events to take place in the Philippines".

The three part module is co-organized by Kaya Natin! Movement with FNF and UP National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP NCPAG).
