FreedomTeam Interview: Emil Marin In Focus

Emil Marin In Focus

Meet Mr Emil Marin, who since November 2015 has been working in the Regional office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Sofia as an Internal Auditor.

1. Please share a few words about yourself?

Let me just mention that I am right in the middle of getting my master’s degree in accounting and control systems and I wish to communicate in German at my workplace. It seems like a natural choice that two months ago I started working as an internal auditor at FNF, doesn’t it?
Apart from that, I am fond of various sports and instead of watching them on TV, I would rather practice them whenever I can. It does not matter if they are physical sports, such as snowboarding and windsurfing, or if they just let you exercise your mind, such as playing chess for example. Reading books and communicating with people are also amongst the activities which keep me going and make me full of energy and enthusiasm.

2. What have been your first impressions so far from your position in FNF?

I have been challenged but highly motivated to do my duties as an internal auditor in FNF as well as possible and I am really grateful that I can work my way into the daily routine gradually with the support of my superiors and of friendly colleagues. I believe that this good working environment contributes significantly to overall performance so I am really glad to be part of the FNF Freedom Team in Sofia.

3. What is most interesting and challenging about your new position in FNF?

Albert Einstein was reported to have said once “The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know’’. Now and then I am reminded of this statement while analyzing data thoroughly. Of course, I try not to get stuck so it is always worthwhile to come back to a problem and look at it from another perspective. Analyzing data, coming to the right conclusion, being able to distinguish between what really is a risk and what is just a problem, separates the wheat from the chaff; these are among the things that I find most challenging and interesting about my position in FNF.

4. Given your background so far, what and how would you contribute to the mission of FNF and the pursuit of Freedom?

5. Why is the promotion of Freedom important to you?

Spreading virtues has to be encouraged anytime and anywhere. We should all strive for a better world. The promotion of Freedom is a must for all of us.

6. What does the “F” in FNF mean to you?

Family: one of the most important social groups for us, human beings.
Future: for you, for me, and for the entire human race.
Freedom.

7. What is your Freedom message?

A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits. We should all work persistently and untiringly at our common task – to heal the world and to make it a better place for the next generation.
