Voices of Tolerance: Irakli Mikiani, Georgia
Irakli Mikiani is one of the Promoting Tolerance fellows from Georgia. He is an undergraduate student of Economics at Ilia State University in Georgia. His passion for liberalism and freedom made him a leader of “Ilia's Students for Liberty”. Furthermore, he actively volunteers at the “One Caucasus Festival” , which brings together musicians, artists, architects, educators and volunteers from all over the world to create new, joint and innovative multi-disciplinary initiatives.
The topic of the 25th edition of the Programme is “Confronting Bigotry and Intolerance in the Face of Rising Populism”. Irakli Mikiani gives an example of populistic practices from Georgia, focusing on the war of drugs. Watch his interview below.
