On November 30, 2024, professional programmer Konstantine Tvalashvili was arrested during a protest in Tbilisi. What began as a peaceful demonstration quickly turned violent when special forces advanced on the protesters, leaving them with no route of escape. Despite not resisting arrest, Konstantine was subjected to excessive physical violence, including being beaten with batons and punched multiple times. He continued to suffer abuse even after being placed in a police vehicle, where officers taunted and humiliated him.

Following his detention, Tvalashvili was charged with disobeying police orders and insulting an officer, despite the lack of credible evidence. He was sentenced to eight days of administrative detention, and his case has since sparked widespread concern about police brutality and the integrity of the legal system. Although an official investigation into misconduct has been launched, he has yet to be recognized as a victim. His story is a sobering example of the risks faced by citizens exercising their right to protest and the urgent need for justice and accountability.
