Navigating the Entrepreneurial Seas: The ABCs of Entrepreneurship Event in Hanoi

In a remarkable chapter of entrepreneurial exploration, the ABCs of Entrepreneurship event unfolded in Hanoi, leaving a mark on the landscape of Southeast Asian innovation. This transformative gathering, held at the enchanting Vuon venue, brought together an assembly of distinguished guests, esteemed speakers, and aspiring entrepreneurs eager to absorb the insights of industry visionaries.

Spearheaded by FNF alumni Samantha Kapunan and Tharin Sethi, the masterminds behind the ABCs of Entrepreneurship series, this event marked a continuation of our mission to empower and educate local youth. Having previously made waves in Thailand and the Philippines, the series landed in Hanoi, weaving together panels of seasoned founders and investors to illuminate the path forward.

The event's inauguration was graced by the warm and insightful opening remarks of Dr. Andreas Stoffers who is the Country Director of FNF Vietnam. Dr. Andreas set the tone for a day filled with wisdom and inspiration.

The distinguished Founder & CEO of WOWS Global, Gagan Singh, led our first knowledge session. This session delivered invaluable insights into the dynamic world of start-up fundraising, unravelling best practices and proven strategies to secure funding for entrepreneurial ventures.

Following this enlightening session, the stage was set for two captivating panel discussions. The first panel spotlighted local female founders, celebrating their outstanding achievements and sharing stories that transcend boundaries. Moderated by Samantha Kapunan, the visionary behind Satori Lifestyle and Wellness and the co-founder of iWantSeats, the panel featured Trinh Thi Hong, the founder of Minh Hong Biotech, a true inspiration, and Celine Ventalon, the CEO & Founder of Emer, a brand under Womany LTD. These trailblazing entrepreneurs are not merely breaking barriers; they are leaving an indelible mark on the entrepreneurial landscape, serving as beacons of inspiration for the next generation of women in business.

The second panel displayed seasoned investors offering profound insights into the intricacies of fundraising in 2023. Amongst the panellists was Nguyen Dang Tuan Minh, a 15-year veteran in innovation and e-business, specialising in start-up consultancy, business development, management consultancy, and training in digital enterprise management. Minh is also a lecturer in e-business, e-government, innovation, and Vietnam's foreign economy. Joining Minh were Lý Thùy Dương, the Vice Director at the Centre for Technology Incubation & Start-up Support, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture & Forestry; Thao Tran, the Country Director at New Energy Nexus; and Alex Nguyen, an Investment Associate at Monk’s Hill. These industry experts delved into the ever-evolving fundraising landscape, offering valuable guidance to entrepreneurs seeking financial support for their ventures.

As the event concluded, attendees left with enriched minds and inspired hearts, carrying forward the lessons learned and connections made. The ABCs of Entrepreneurship in Hanoi transcended the traditional conference experience; it was a jubilation of ideas, innovation, and the unwavering pursuit of success.

In reflection, this chapter in the series has not only marked a significant milestone but has also laid the groundwork for continued growth and collaboration in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Southeast Asia. The knowledge shared, the connections established, and the entrepreneurial spirit ignited at the ABCs of Entrepreneurship event in Hanoi will undoubtedly echo, shaping the trajectories of countless aspiring entrepreneurs in the years to come.
