Manfred Richter, member of the board of directors and treasurer of FNF, visits Madrid

Earlier this month, we had an important visitor from Germany, Mr. Manfred Richter. The long-time member of the board of directors and treasurer of FNF visited the FNF office and met with some of our partners, including the liberal Ciudadanos group in the Spanish congress.

As Mr. Richter himself was a member of the German Bundestag and served as chief whip for the German FDP group during the both challenging and exciting times of German reunification, there was absolutely no shortage of topics and parliamentary expertise during his visit to the congress.

Also, after an electoral blow for our Spanish partner party in the Andalusian regional elections just days before, Mr Richter reminded our Spanish partners that liberal parties across Europe – including the FDP – were experiencing very difficult moments in their recent history. As the famous saying by Winston Churchill goes: "Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."
