Samuel Sevi, Winner of the Tirst Edition of the Falling Walls Lab in Abidjan, Will Represent Côte d'Ivoire in Berlin

Falling Walls Lab

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom organised the national final of the competition Falling Walls Lab Abidjan 2017 on Thursday 29 June, under the framework of promoting entrepreneurship and scientific research especially among young people. 

The final event took place at the Maison de l'Entreprise, the headquarters of the General Confederation of Enterprises in Côte d'Ivoire. The inaugural Falling Walls Lab Final in Abidjan was attended by our partners for the initiative namely, the Ecole de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises of the INP-HB of Yamoussoukro, Ministry of Youth Promotion, Youth Employment & Civic Service, Directorate for the Promotion of SMEs of the Ministry of Commerce, Handicrafts & Promotion SMEs & Plaatine Communication and Jokkolabs.


Falling Walls Lab is an international competition for entrepreneurs, students, doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and researchers from around the world. It is a platform for participants to present their scientific research, or social innovations and solutions for companies to a jury of academia and industry. All disciplines are concerned including agriculture, medicine, economics, engineering, human sciences, etc.
Falling Walls Lab is held throughout the year in more than 50 countries. The winner of each National Lab then qualifies for the final in Berlin, which takes place on the 8th of November.
Winner of the first edition of the Falling Walls Lab in Abidjan Samuel Sevi, will represent Côte d'Ivoire in Berlin with his project hevea latex cup SIVE device.

Dans le cadre de la promotion de l’esprit entrepreneurial et de la recherche scientifique, notamment chez les jeunes, la Fondation Friedrich Naumann pour la liberté (FNF) a organisé la finale nationale du concours « Falling Walls Lab Abidjan 2017 », ce Jeudi 29 Juin 2017 de 09h00 à 13h à la « Maison de l’Entreprise », siège de la Confédération Générale des Entreprises de Côte d'Ivoire (CGECI), au Plateau en partenariat avec l’Ecole de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises (ESCAE) de l’INP-HB de Yamoussoukro, le ministère de la Promotion de la jeunesse, de l'Emploi des jeunes et du Service civique, la Direction de la promotion des PME du Ministère du Commerce, de l'Artisanat et de la  promotion des PME, de Plaatine Communication et de Jokkolabs.

Falling Walls Lab est une compétition internationale destinée aux entrepreneurs, aux étudiants, doctorants, post-doctorants, chercheurs du monde entier. Il s’agit d’une plateforme offrant l’opportunité aux participants de présenter leurs travaux de recherche scientifique, ou d’innovations sociales, de solutions pour les entreprises, etc. à un jury issu du milieu universitaire et de l’industrie. Toutes les disciplines sont concernées: agriculture, médecine, économie, ingénierie, sciences humaines, etc.

Falling Walls Lab se déroule tout au long de l’année, dans plus de 50 pays. Le gagnant de chaque Lab national se qualifie ensuite pour la finale à Berlin, qui a lieu chaque année, le 8 Novembre. 

Samuel Sevi, vainqueur de la première édition du Falling Walls Lab à Abidjan, représentera la Côte d’Ivoire à Berlin (en Allemagne) du 8 au 9 Novembre 2017 avec son projet « protège tasse à latex d'hevéa » (SIVE).

Falling Walls Lab Final in Berlin
