Environmental Festival Brings Community Together to Promote Sustainability

Be2a Fest

The recent Environmental Festival in partnership with Oxygène Messadine Association took place in late August, was a resounding success, bringing together citizens of all ages to learn, share, and take action towards a more sustainable future. We took a unique approach by involving the local community in various activities, workshops, and competitions aimed at educating and engaging attendees in environmental preservation for two days.

One of the highlights of the festival was the handicrafts exhibition, which showcased the talents of local craftsmen within the environmental village. Renewable energy installation companies and startups showcasing innovative environmental applications also treated visitors to presentations. Workshops on climate change and its effects were also held, providing attendees with practical knowledge on managing and recycling household waste.

The festival's "Massadin Tabaskal" event was another crowd-pleaser, where 40 children and youth rode bicycles through the streets of Massadin, spreading the message of flexible mobility and sustainable transportation. The competition also featured a group of students and youth who presented innovative technological solutions to environmental challenges, following a series of training courses on environmental protection and climate change awareness.

Artistic expression was also a key component of the festival, with a stunning graffiti mural created on the city's facade. Local artists collaborated with youth to promote awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, and the mural served as a powerful message about the negative effects of climate change.

In addition to these activities, the festival included a series of training sessions addressing climate change challenges and possible solutions, as well as a Mini Hackathon, where students and youth came together to develop innovative technological ideas to address environmental challenges. The festival concluded with a ceremony honoring participants, where prizes were awarded to the best teams in the "Technology Solutions Hackathon" competition. The winning project, a smartphone application aimed at rationalizing water and energy consumption and waste management through citizen monitoring, was a testament to the creativity and innovation of the festival's participants. The festival's organizers emphasized the importance of cooperation between civil society and official bodies in addressing environmental challenges, and the event served as a powerful reminder of the need for collective action towards a more sustainable future.
