Tthe Chinese Economic and Strategic Research Seminar "Mekong-Lancang Cooperation: Situations and Problems" is organized by the Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) in coorepartion with FNF Vietnam.

Time: 9.00 - 12.00 am, Wednesday, 16th May, 2018       

Venue: Institute of World Economics and Politics, No.1 Lieu Giai street, Hanoi  

            The seminar will be held in Vietnamese without translation.

VEPR’s Chinese Economic Studies Program (VCES) holds “Chinese Economic and Strategic Research” Seminar every two months, in order to promote domestic and international researchers’ science exchange activities related to Chinese economy and politics.

Mekong–Lancang cooperation mechanism includes six riparian countries: China, Myanmar, Thaland, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. After two years of establishment, Mekong-Lancang cooperation has obtained significant progresses, completed the period of shaping cooperation, entering the specific implementation phase. As a leading country, China is providing economic incentives to the South. So far, nearly 60% of China’s preferential loans have been injected into 5 Mekong countries with infrastructure and industrial projects. For China, this initiative has become another platform for promoting “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
