The University of Economics and Business (UEB) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Vietnam (FNF) organize the Launching Conference of the Vietnam Annual Economic Report 2019.

“Vietnam Annual Economic Report” (VAER) is one of the main strategic research projects of the VNU University of Economics and Business, (VNU-UEB). The report is conducted annually by Viet Nam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) from 2009 to date.
The primary purpose of the Report is to provide scientific evidences for macroeconomic policy evaluation and policymaking of Viet Nam based on reviewing and analyzing independently the major achievements, difficulties, opportunities and challenges for the Vietnamese economy. The Report also discussed in depth selected macroeconomic issues of the country while maintaining an objective and independent point of view.
Following the success of previous reports, Vietnam Annual Economic Report 2019 visualises Vietnam On the Doorstep to the Digital Economy. The Digital ecomomy trend, also known as the Industry 4.0, is taking off in many developed nations. In many South East Asia countries, National Digital strategies have been implementing, which pose new challenges of breaking down the industry and the market structures, and transforming the entire global production, management and governance system. Vietnam can not stay out of this trend. In this year’s report, besides analyzing and evaluating the economic situation in the world and in Vietnam, we are going to conduct in-depth evaluation and prediction for Vietnam’s digital ecomomy, thereby identify opportunities and challenges that Vietnamese enterprises and Vietnam’s Digital Economy would face in the new context.
