On November 14-15, 2024, the National Registration Agency for Secured Transactions (NRAST) and Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Vietnam hosted a workshop in Hanoi titled "Sharing Experience of the Republic of Germany on Ensuring the Performance of Obligations with Intellectual Property."

This workshop was part of the State Governance Dialogue Program between Vietnam and Germany and the 2024 cooperation plan between the two countries’ Ministries of Justice. The event explored how intellectual property (IP) can be used as collateral in civil transactions, focusing on its potential to drive innovation and economic growth.

The event emphasized the importance of intellectual property, not just as a legal concept, but as a powerful tool for economic development. Properly managing IP-related obligations protects the rights of creators, supports international trade, and promotes innovation and a stronger business environment.

Participants appreciated the open discussions and valuable lessons from Germany, a leader in building effective IP systems. FNF Vietnam recognized the excellent collaboration with NARST in organizing the workshop. The diverse perspectives of experts, businesses, and scholars enriched the discussions and provided meaningful contributions to Vietnam’s legal and economic landscape.
