Political Event
"Empathy is not enough - Where are the political Answers?"
In the FNF Jerusalem Office we are saddened and appalled by the murder of two citizens and the attack on Jewish worshippers during Yom Kippur in the Synagogue of Halle, Germany.
There must be no understanding but only contempt for physical assaults on human beings due to their religious, ethnic or gender background, in Germany as in any other place in our world. The lessons from the past are clear and universal: No tolerance but determined educational efforts against anti-Semitism, racism, Islamophobia and acts of violating human dignity. We put our trust into the German law enforcement institutions, and we will continue with our preventive efforts in open public discourses on the causes and impact of anti-semitic and racist attitudes and assaults. We appeal to the public to be vigilant and to show civil courage when facing anti-semitic and racist behaviour and attacks.
With the Clap For Crap Initiative https://clapforcrap.org/ , FNF wants to raise awareness among the public towards racist and anti-semitic discourses, against discriminative language and hatred against foreigners in social media.
And here on the FNF website, the article of Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenbergeris, "Empathy is not enough - Where are the political Answers?"
