‘Innovation in Israeli Education’

We continue to cooperate with our partner, The Forum of Liberal Thinking, and organized a weekend seminar that was devoted to the topic of ‘Innovation in Israeli Education’.

Asaf Avital, a vice principle of a special education school, explained their teaching method in which they collaborate between the school and the Safari. He explained that the encounter with the animals constitutes a platform for comparison, identification, projection and reflection on the student’s personal situation. These processes are used by the staff to promote students at the emotional, behavioral and social levels.

Another speaker, Yossi Gimon, manager of Erez College, shared with us a project he initiated, “The Gates to Industry”. The program aimed at exposing the numerous employment opportunities in the industrial sector available in the Western Galilee region of northern Israel. The program is designed to breakdown the stigmas and prejudices connected with a career in industry that prejudices the younger generation on their dilemma in choosing a rewarding profession and a future career.

Together with Asaf Avital and Yossi Gimon other speakers introduced their inspiring projects, that should take the Israeli education one step forward!
