#RESTART21
Freedom Song Songwriting Contest
In the midst of a pandemic in which freedoms are being challenged, music is a powerful uplift – a medium to express one’s self, and a means to connect with one another. Music brings comfort, provides powerful stories, and inspires people. It is a universal language that unifies communities, and shapes societies.
We are inviting singers, songwriters, music enthusiasts from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to join the Freedom Song Songwriting Contest. Tune in to greater freedoms and turn the beat up on optimism and hope for a better future.
Freedom Song Songwriting Contest highlights the importance of self-expression, participation, and the value of freedom in the new normal. As we try to restart our lives, we want music that would encourage us to embrace new opportunities. We’re looking for songs that convey hope, spark courage, and inspire optimism.
The Freedom Song Songwriting Contest is organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, a German political foundation that provides innovative platforms and solutions that translate complex concepts of freedom into language that is relatable to Filipinos. The Competition is a platform to harmonize the amplified calls to defend freedoms and democracy.
