A recent visit to Tunisia by a delegation of entrepreneurs from Morocco and West Africa proved to be a transformative experience, marked by insightful encounters and a shared commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable business practices. The day culminated with a pleasant journey to Sidi Bou Saïd, where participants exchanged dinnertime stories with representatives of the Tunisian Ecosystem, giving them an insight into the country's rich cultural tapestry.
The following day saw the delegation travel to Kef-Touiref, where they engaged with representatives of FACE Tunisie to gain valuable insights into the "Ras Malek Fi Darek" initiative. The visiting entrepreneurs were encouraged and empowered by this project, which supports female entrepreneurship by valuing drawer goods and empowering rural women financially. In Tunis, the day concluded with a dedicated round table organized in collaboration with the Tunisian Association of Women Engineers entitled ´Reinventing the digital economy to promote environmental sustainability´ further deepening the resolve to contribute to a more inventive and sustainable future.
The entrepreneurial journey in Tunisia continued with a visit to the historic El Jem amphitheater, followed by a meeting with Ms. Yosra Tahri, the esteemed 2023 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. The delegates also engaged in a compelling discussion about the social and economic inclusion of migrants in Tunisia with the African Business Leaders Association, gaining invaluable insights and lessons along the way.
The culmination of the visit took place in Djerba, where the entrepreneurs participated in SLUSH'D with Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis, a platform that facilitated connections, idea exchange, and the documentation of remarkable events. The theme "Africa & beyond" underscored the focus on creating new growth prospects for African businesses, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, experts, and ecosystem supporters. The event proved to be a catalyst for meaningful connections and collaborations, underscoring the potential for innovation and growth in Africa and Tunisia.
