FNF Philippines is Hiring A Project Officer
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German foundation that is at home in 60 countries around the world. At FNF, we and our partners promote freedom, liberalism, democracy, human rights, economic freedom, rule of law, and also curb climate change. As a publicly funded non-profit organization, the foundation focuses on civic education and keeps close ties to Germany´s Free Democratic Party (FDP). We work with government institutions, NGOs, academia, political parties, researchers, students, journalists, activists, start-ups, and artists who share same values and want to join the work for freedom. In Southeast and East Asia region, next to Manila we also have offices in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Seoul, Taipei, and in Malaysia. Democratizing of mobility in the Philippines
The Philippines has been grappling with a transportation crisis driven by car-centric policies and inadequate infrastructure for decades. It ranks ninth globally and first in Southeast Asia for the worst traffic congestion, according to the Traffic Index by Country 2020. In response, FNF Philippines recognized the need for a study to evaluate public versus private transportation, as well as walkability and cyclability.

Issues in Mobility: Solution in Solidarity
In another partnership with Alt Mobility Philippines, the FNF Philippines has published an in-depth study titled "The State of Mobility 2023," which examines the status of urban mobility in the Philippines. The report seeks to identify ways to develop a transport system that enhances the quality of life of Filipino citizens while also clarifying the roles of various agencies in implementing these plans.

The Liberal Party and the 2025 Philippine Elections
The Liberal Party became the first ruling party when the Philippines gained independence after World War II. LP became the party in power four times during the presidencies of Manuel Roxas (1946-1948), Elpidio Quirino (1948-1953), Diosdado Macapagal (1961-1965) and Benigno Aquino, III (2010-2016). During the terms of Presidents Corazon Aquino (1986-1992) and Fidel Ramos (1992-1998), and the early years of the Arroyo administration (2001 to 2010), LP was part of the ruling coalition.

FNF and Clean Air Asia partnered to advance Electric Vehicle Adoption in the Philippines
The FNF Philippines has collaborated with Clean Air Asia (CAA) in 2023 to produce a pivotal Project Report titled “Advancing Electric Vehicle Adoption in the Philippines through Policy Integration”. This collaboration aims to help the implementation of the Republic Act 11687, also known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which mandates a 5% electric vehicle (EV) share in the vehicle fleets of government and corporate entities.

Case study on Tuguegarao Tricycle Modernization, highlight of 2021 FNF policy hackathon
As part of its Klima advocacy's policy hackathon, the FNF Philippines supports researches that address policy gaps in the transport system particularly those that impact the environment, and affect freedom of movement. One notable case study submitted during the 2021 hackathon co-organized by National Movement of Young Legislators Region 2 was a case study titled “Transport Modernization in Tuguegarao City”.

FNF and Alt Mobility pushes for the passage of Commuter Bill of Rights
In collaboration with AltMobility Philippines, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF)-Philippines co-authored a legal research paper titled “Commuters Naman!” in support of the Magna Carta for Dignified Commute, simply known as the Commuter Bill of Rights. The bill seeks to enumerate and uphold commuters' rights to safe, accessible, and sustainable mobility through a shift to more equitable transportation planning and policymaking which recognizes the necessity and importance of mobility in the lives of the Filipino commuting public.
